What is the definition of Ambient Pressure?

Ambient pressure is the prevailing absolute pressure at the location of the pump. At higher than sea level this tends to be lower than 1013.25 mbar, and in a high pressure weather environment, it can be slightly higher, however this is intermittent. Usually the prevailing pressure is determined from the altitude.
